Dave Lynch Those expecting a “New Dutch Swing”-style large-ensemble recording à la ICP or Willem Breuker Kollektief will find something entirely different here, but shouldn’t close their ears to Tijn Wybenga’s unique conception and methods. Wybenga’s 14-piece AM.OK band is run through his cut-and-paste constructs to create startling instrumental juxtapositions; the music shimmers and grooves, and is oftentimes irresistible. Favorite track: Neapy.

I was brought here after listening to a live performance of Makaya's on you tube. I instantly loved the song Holy Lands so much that I had to see if the album version was the same rendition as the live one. Then I listened to the whole album! Universal Beings is a just a groove...
